My mother made all of my clothes growing up. Everyday wear for me and my sister, stage dresses, when I began performing. She made couture from nothing in Soviet Russia because nothing was all we had. Creativity was how she survived. She transformed hand me downs into things that turned heads on the bus.

Now I dress you in a message she can't receive by mail.

There is an embargo between us. But this message goes beyond borders and politics.

By wearing this, we can remind our moms they are always loved,

even when we are far away.
